# LlamaForge > A browser control panel for llama.cpp's own `llama-server` router. It installs the official llama.cpp build for your GPU, edits `models.ini`, rates models against your VRAM, and loads, unloads and chats with GGUF models. LlamaForge runs no models itself. - Install with one line (`install.ps1` on Windows, `install.sh` on Linux/macOS): no admin, no compiler. Then click **Install llama.cpp** in the dashboard, which fetches the official release for your GPU (CUDA, Vulkan, Metal or CPU). - Three local services: the dashboard on `http://127.0.0.1:8090` (loopback only), the llama.cpp router on `http://127.0.0.1:8080` (OpenAI-compatible API at `/v1`, always behind an API key), and llama.cpp's chat UI on `http://127.0.0.1:8091`. The dashboard also serves Anthropic- and OpenAI-compatible endpoints for coding agents, plus an MCP server. - The backend is pure Python standard library. Per-model settings are every flag the installed `llama-server --help` lists, parsed live, so they follow the llama.cpp version you run. It also drives ik_llama.cpp builds and, on Windows, vLLM in WSL2. - Early preview, MIT. Windows + NVIDIA is the most-tested path; Linux and macOS pass CI but have had little real-hardware use. ## Getting started - [Introduction](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/index.md): What LlamaForge is, who it's for, supported platforms, and the dashboard / router / chat architecture. - [Installation](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/install.md): The one-line installers, what they do, installer options, installing llama.cpp from the dashboard, and updating. - [First Run](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/first-run.md): The onboarding wizard, Lite vs Advanced mode, and fresh-install safety nets. ## Guides - [Models & Tuning](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/models.md): Editing every llama-server flag per model, presets, launch profiles, and Save + Reload. - [Discover Models](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/discover.md): Hugging Face GGUF search with a VRAM fit rating for each file, and resumable downloads. - [Build & Update](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/build.md): Official prebuilt llama.cpp releases with rollback, or building from source with CMake flags detected for your GPU. - [Setup](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/setup.md): Prerequisite checks, installing missing tools, scanning drives for GGUFs already on disk, and pruning stale entries. - [Usage Stats](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/stats.md): Per-model tokens, runs and speed from the router's `/metrics`. Per-client stats are not possible. - [vLLM Backend](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/vllm.md): vLLM in WSL2 as a second engine for safetensors models (Windows only). - [Context Wiki](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/context-wiki.md): Markdown docs grouped into profiles, injected into requests or exported into agent config files. - [Connect an Agent](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/agents.md): One-click Claude Code, Codex and pi.dev config for local models, via the Anthropic-compatible shim or the router directly. - [Theming & Accessibility](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/theming.md): The Stowage, Hearth and Classic skins, light/dark, and the colorblind-safe mode. - [Embers](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/embers.md): Small always-on local agents that watch a topic, keep a wiki that only holds verbatim-quoted facts, and write scheduled briefs. - [MCP Server](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/mcp.md): Let Claude Code, Codex or any MCP client load models, check fit, search Hugging Face and hand tasks to a local model; forge_* tools run Auto-Forge. - [Agent Skill](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/skill.md): `npx skills add dadwritestech/LlamaForge` or the Claude Code plugin; teaches a coding agent to size, load, Auto-Forge and use local models through LlamaForge. - [Voice](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/voice.md): Text to speech through llama.cpp's `llama-tts`, speech to text and a hands-free Talk mode through audio mmprojs, with OpenAI-style endpoints. - [Speech to text with llama.cpp](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/speech-to-text-llamacpp.md): The `llama-server` request that transcribes audio (no Whisper), four gotchas, and measured Gemma 4 vs Voxtral results. - [Phone Remote](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/phone.md): Scan a QR code and chat with your PC's models from your phone; an opt-in, token-guarded LAN listener that can only chat, or talk out loud over a Tailscale HTTPS link. - [Blind Arena](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/arena.md): Two local models answer one prompt with names hidden; you vote and a local Elo board ranks them on your prompts and GPUs. - [Auto-Forge](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/autoforge.md): Measures GPU placements, KV cache types and speculative drafters for one model in a sandbox, checks drafters token for token, and applies the fastest setup with Undo (NVIDIA). - [Batches](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/batch.md): OpenAI's Batch API (`/v1/files`, `/v1/batches`) answered by your own GPU, now or once the router is idle; the `openai` SDK works unchanged. ## Reference - [config.json Reference](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/config.md): Every config.json key with its type, default and meaning, plus preset bindings and how the file is loaded and saved. - [models.ini Format](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/models-ini.md): The preset file llama-server reads via `--models-preset`: one section per model plus the `[*]` defaults. - [HTTP API](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/api.md): The dashboard's `/api/*` management routes and its agent-facing chat endpoints. - [Keyboard Shortcuts](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/keymap.md): Global and Models-tab shortcuts. - [Troubleshooting](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/troubleshooting.md): How a failed load is diagnosed from the router log, plus missing prerequisites, installer and first-run problems. ## Optional - [FAQ](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/faq.md): How LlamaForge compares to LM Studio, Ollama and Jan, platforms, and GPU requirements. - [What's New](https://dadwritestech.github.io/LlamaForge/whats-new.md): Recent releases, each linking to its full reference. - [README](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dadwritestech/LlamaForge/master/README.md): Project overview, feature list and comparison table. - [Roadmap](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dadwritestech/LlamaForge/master/ROADMAP.md): What's shipped and what's planned, without dates. - [Community recipes](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dadwritestech/LlamaForge/master/recipes/README.md): Shareable, tested model setups as JSON, and how to import one. - [Contributing](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dadwritestech/LlamaForge/master/CONTRIBUTING.md): Ground rules, running the tests, and pull request conventions.
